Personal Writing Process

Professor Beckman begins by reading within the fiend to gain an understanding of style. Next, she creates a plan for her writing. She often utilizes a poster board and post-it notes to help organize her thoughts. As she writers, she crosses off ideas and rearranges the plan in order to stick to the central argument. Lastly, she presents the work to other authors in the field, receiving peer reviews and critiques as she approaches a final draft.
